| Global Mapper - Creates Garmin Custom Maps from 24K DRG maps quickly. Has had a major upgrade to be able to extract individual features from the new USGS GeoPDF topo files, such as contour lines that can be placed on Google Earth as .kmz files. (Google Earth at present can't do this). Also described is a method to create contours in multi-colors from simple DEM (Digital Elevation Model) data with any spacing desired as kmz. files that can be shown on Google Earth or Garmin units that support Custom Maps.
