Garmin's StreetPilot Map Cartridge Update Policy

The following has been furnished to us by Garmin as their "Official Update Policy" with respect to StreetPilot
MetroGuide Map Cartridge Updates.   The maps are very good,  but cheap they are not.

Prices and availability of MetroGuides are subject to change at any time without notice. MetroGuides will be shipped at GARMIN's discretion with new or newly reprogrammed cartridges.

The following programs apply to StreetPilot MetroGuides only and are available directly from GARMIN.

MetroGuide Buyer Protection/Update Policy

The MetroGuide buyer protection policy allows customers to return their cartridges for a free update within 90 days of the purchase date. The cartridge identification code and size must remain the same. To return a MetroGuide for update, contact GARMIN Cartography Sales at 1-800-427-6460 to obtain a tracking number. The tracking number must appear on the outside of the shipping package, and the MetroGuide must be shipped freight prepaid to GARMIN at 1200 East 151st Street, Olathe, KS 66062.

MetroGuide Trade-In Policy

MetroGuide cartridges may only be traded in for new MetroGuide cartridges. A trade-in allowance of 25% will be applied toward the retail purchase of any new MetroGuide cartridge, with a maximum of one trade-in per new MetroGuide allowed.

MetroGuide Lease Program

For those times when you need a MetroGuide for a short period of time, you can participate in our Lease Program. Please call 1-800-427-6460 to obtain an order form and tracking number. Initially, you will be charged the full cost of the MetroGuide cartridge. If you return it within 60 days, your account will be credited one-half of the cost of the cartridge. A $9.99 handling fee will be assessed for all returned cartridges. Electronic cartridges must be returned undamaged or unaltered in any way.
